Founder. Trainer. Wellness Advocate. Community Builder.

La Nieciá Vicknair, affectionately known as Coach Lala V., is a purpose-driven leader in the fitness and wellness space. A proud Howard University cum laude graduate and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she’s also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Nutrition Coach, Pilates and Trainer. Her career combines science-based movement, soul-centered coaching, and a deep commitment to community.

Coach Lala is the founder of Thrive Health Lab, a boutique wellness studio that served South Los Angeles for seven years. Located in a historically underserved, predominantly Black neighborhood, Thrive became a safe, affirming space where movement was more than just a workout, it was a tool for healing, reclaiming power, and building joy.

With certifications in mobility, TRX, corrective exercise, and breathwork, Lala specializes in training women. Especially women of color ages 35–55 who are navigating life transitions, prioritizing themselves, and redefining wellness on their own terms.

The 40+ Mindset Shift

After turning 40, Lala stepped fully into her own power physically, emotionally, and professionally.

Now, she helps other women do the same. Her story is one of lived experience and transformation, giving her the rare ability to speak to both the science and the soul of well-being.

For Coach Lala, movement isn’t a trend it’s a lifestyle. Her approach is rooted in longevity, autonomy, and self-trust. She encourages her clients to use fitness not just for aesthetics, but as a way to design a joyful, intentional life.

A Heart for Her Community

A long-time resident of Ladera Heights, Coach Lala has witnessed the toll that health disparities take on her neighbors especially due to lack of access to culturally competent wellness services.

She began by training her own family outdoors, then expanded to serving schools, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations across LA.

The sudden loss of her father was a defining moment that propelled her into deeper purpose: creating accessible, compassionate spaces for people to move, heal, and thrive.

Coach Lala’s work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Black Enterprise, and The Washington Post. But her true impact lies in the everyday moments helping people believe in their bodies again, reconnect with their breath, and return to themselves.

This isn’t just fitness. It’s a lifestyle, a healing practice, and a reclamation of your power.
